Facebook, Twitter, Linked In- Oh My! (2 of 2)

Sunday, March 6, 2011

Last week, we talked about Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and the various different thought processes behind using each of the top 3 Social Media sites.  This week I promised a few tips on simplifying the use of these many tools so let's get to it!

There are many ways to keep Social Media from becoming an overwhelming and time consuming process.

1st Tip
Find a Teenager!!- SERIOUSLY!  Our kids have got this e-communication business down to a science and it would make sense to tap into that knowledge base if you have the chance!  My son has been instrumental in assisting with the use of Facebook- I am still working on refining our site but it is further than it would have been without his help.  So use your personal resources and find a teenager!

2nd Tip
Use a tool that allows you to make one entry and have is sent to all three sites!  I am trying HootSuite and it seems to be working very well.  There are other Social Media Dashboards so do your research and find the one that works best for you!

3rd Tip
Take a breath and remember that you do not have to be everywhere in order to be successful in your business!  What is your niche' ?  Who is your best target audience? Success leaves clues so be aware of how your industry is embracing Social Media and be selective.  Once you have chosen your path stay consistent- with both your message and your frequency.
